The Challenge
To become CIPD qualified and kick-start a successful HR career
Courtney Jones was promoted to her first HR role with the Charities Aid Foundation after a six month secondment, and chose to begin her CIPD journey at the same time as her new job. Attracted to HR by a love for helping people and providing advice, Courtney has ambitions of becoming a HR adviser and would love to manage a team.
She decided to self-fund the qualification to learn more about HR and upskill herself, knowing that being CIPD qualified is a requirement for many HR positions.
Taking on the challenge of a new role and additional study for a new qualification at the same time was not an easy feat. But with the right support, Courtney knew she could achieve it.
The L&D team at CAF were familiar with the Reed Learning team and recommended our courses to Courtney, knowing that our supportive advisers and flexible learning solutions would help her achieve her goals and further her career development.
My adviser has been amazing and so supportive , really going above and beyond what I expected in terms of support. She motivated me throughout and gave me the confidence to keep going.
The Solution
Comprehensive course materials and a supportive adviser
Courtney enjoyed our online webinars, and thought our study guides were “brilliant” – providing a breakdown of all the information needed. With our Virtual Learning Environment and study resources, she had everything she needed to complete her course.
While Courtney admits studying for her qualification alongside a full-time job was hard at first, support from her adviser Leanne Till helped her to keep going. Courtney told us that Leanne was “such a great teacher, who would always respond in a timely manner” and made her feel that there “were no stupid questions”.
In fact, Courtney found her adviser so encouraging that she couldn’t wait to go home and start learning!
