Gateway to work
Our Gateway to work programme is designed to give your Year 10 to 13 students the best chance of gaining employment after leaving education.
This work readiness eLearning programme is aimed at levelling a playing field that has become ever more uneven following the disruption caused by Covid-19. With a high youth unemployment rate and students left disadvantaged by the pandemic, effective careers education has never been more important.
Students on the course will work through five key modules, each with the intention of broadening their skillset, increasing their practical knowledge, and building confidence ahead of what can often be a daunting transition into the workplace.
Students will develop their self-awareness, self-reflection and self-efficacy through a psychology and evidence-based approach, helping them identify suitable career paths and build confidence to work towards their goals. Students will then have the opportunity to explore different roles through virtual work experience at leading companies, supported and empowered to make important decisions about their future.
Once they have identified their chosen pathway, focus shifts to equipping students with the skills they need to get ready for work via our vast array of online courses. Students will also prepare their CV, experience a mock interview, and build a career action plan to help them achieve their goals.
For teaching staff, the programme’s inbuilt coaching functionality will help facilitate effective one-to-one conversations with students. Assembly and classroom-based resources are also available, while a dedicated account manager will help with onboarding and provide monthly reporting for regular updates on the progress of students.
Reed Tutors
As an approved provider to the National Tutoring Programme (NTP), our education experts specialise in delivering impactful sessions through a national network of high-quality specialist tutors to students across primary, secondary, and SEND settings.
Our tutoring can be delivered both face-to-face and online, enabling you to select the most appropriate option for your students’ learning requirements. Our market-leading technology provides an intuitive and transparent online portal that allows you to measure the tangible impact on your students.
Programmes are based upon 15, hour-long sessions per tutor group, as advised by the DfE. Tuition can be delivered to groups of up to six students, though we believe that 1:3 tuition provides the best value to schools, while 1:2 or 1:1 tuition is better suited to students requiring additional support.
Online tuition is underpinned by a user-friendly platform designed to facilitate open communication with regular feedback, and ensure a safe and secure setting during lessons. We are committed to safeguarding and our education compliance requirements are based on statutory and legal requirements set out by the DfE, the DBS and Ofsted.
To ensure you get the right fit for your needs, our expert tutors include QTS-qualified teachers, professional tutors, SEND specialists, higher level teaching assistants (HLTA), and final year subject-specialist university students.
