Reed Screening’s Director Keith Rosser outlines exactly what employers need to know about changes to right to work checks and the impact inaction could have on your business after 1 October 2022.
The way digital right to work checks are used as part of the onboarding process for new hires in the UK changed from 1 October 2022. Many businesses were unaware of the new requirements and unprepared for the changes they needed to make.
Going forward, Covid-adjusted checks will not be valid, meaning employers will no longer be able to verify a candidate’s ID remotely using visual checks online. Instead, they will need to use a certified Identity Service Provider (IDSP) to provide government-certified digital identity checks.
During this webinar, Director of Reed Screening, Keith Rosser, examined the changes to digital right to work checks in the onboarding process, the legislation surrounding those changes, what action were needed, what options were available, and the consequences of inaction.
Reed Screening has long advised the government and lobbied on the topic of digital right to work checks and their benefits for business and Keith has been instrumental in many of the changes we have seen to date.
